Why safari first and beach after, not the other way round?
Game drives mean early mornings and long days. Most travellers land harder on a beach chair afterwards than before, so we build routes in that order by default.
How long should each half be?
Most routes run five to seven nights of safari and four to six on the coast, though it flexes around what you want more of.
Diani or Zanzibar — how do we choose?
Diani suits a Kenya-based route and families wanting calmer water close to Nairobi. Zanzibar suits a Tanzania route and travellers who want Stone Town's history alongside the beach.
How do we get from the bush to the coast?
A short domestic flight in both cases — from the Mara or Nairobi to Diani, or from the northern circuit to Zanzibar. No long road transfer in between.
Is malaria a concern on the coast too?
Yes — both Diani and Zanzibar sit in malaria zones, same as the parks. We flag prophylaxis timing as part of planning either way.
What does a bush-and-beach route typically cost?
Most routes start from around $6,400 per person sharing for ten to twelve days, moving up with camp category and time of year.
Can we combine this with gorilla trekking?
It's possible but adds real travel time — Rwanda or Uganda, then back through Nairobi to the coast. We'll be upfront about whether it's worth it for your dates.
